The anatomy of the maxilla and the mandible can affect the efficacy of local anesthetics and their ease of delivery. As well, variations in nerve distribution of both the maxillary and mandibular nerves can make local anesthetic success unpredictable and ineffective. This CE webinar will discuss both nerve and bone anatomy and how they can change the efficacy and ease of delivery of a local anesthetic. A review of the maxillary nerve, the mandibular nerve, the mandible and the maxilla will be discussed. Various injection techniques and local anesthetic products will be reviewed considering this nerve and bone anatomy.
During this CE webinar, we will • become familiar with the maxillary nerve and its distribution • become familiar with the mandibular nerve and its distribution • appreciate that patients present with various anatomical differences
